Stuffed Bhindi
Winter is the season for fresh vegetables. This way we, Bangaloreans are spoilt for choice when it comes to vegetables. Today i am going to teach you stuffed Bhindi or okras. It goes well with Rice-Dal and Roti. It's a bit spicy, so if you are not a fan of spicy food, you can reduce the quantity of spices used. But be generous with oil otherwise, the vegetables will stick to the bottom of the pan.
Ingredients:
1. Bhindi or Okra: 1/2 kg
2. Red chilli powder: 1 tsp
3. Coriander powder: 2 tsp
4. Cumin powder: 1/2 tsp
5. Amchoor or Raw mango powder: 1/2 tsp
6. Asafoetida: 1/4 tsp
7. Gram flour: 2 tsp
8. Oil: 3-4 tbsp
9. Salt to taste
Preparation:
Mix all the spices and gram flour.
Slit the Bhendis and stuff the masalas and keep aside.
Procedure:
1. Take oil in a pan.
2. Put all the stuffed Bhindis and simmer.
3. Cover and cook till soft stirring in between.
4. Sprinkle the remaining masala and mix gently.
5. Remove from fire. Garnish with onion rings and serve with Rice-Dal or Rotis of your choice.
