Ganesh Chaturthi Special

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!!                                  

Today i will share two staple recipes of Ganesh Chaturthi, with a twist!

1.Chocolate Modaka
      Ingredients:
      1. 1 cup chiroti rawa(Fine sooji)
      2. 1 Tb sp maida
      3. 2 Tb sp oil
      4. 50 gms cooking chocolate
      5. 2 Tb sp mixed dry fruits
      6. 1 Tb sp powdered sugar
      7. oil for deep frying

      Procedure: 
      1. Mix rava and maida
      2. Put 2 tb sp hot oil and mix until it
          resembles bread crumbs.
      3. Grate chocolate,roughly chop all the
          dry fruits,mix nicely and keep aside.
      4. Put oil for deep frying.
      5. Make small circles,fill with the
          chocolate mixture and make madaks.
      6. Fry in oil till crispy and keep them in
          air tight containers.
       

       Ambode (Deep fried dal vada)
       Ingredients:
       1. 2 cups chana dal
       2. 6-8 red chillies
       3. 2-3 green chillies
       4. 1"piece ginger
       5. 2 tb sp finely chopped coriander
       6. 2 tb sp chopped curry leaves
       7. 2 tb sp grated coconut
       8. little hing and salt to taste.

       Procedure:
      1. Soak chana dal for 1 hour and drain
           the excess water.
      2. Grind soaked dal along with red
           chillies ,salt and hing
      3.Mix all the other ingredients and
          make like vadas and deep fry in oil.
      4.Serve hot with tomato sauce or pudina
          chutney as an option.
