Navratna curry
Navratna curry:
Navratna or Navratan curry is a very popular side dish. It's more popular in South Indian restaurants than in homes. May be because of the richness, people make rarely at home. So, in order to make it light, i have reduced the quantity of some of the ingredients. And, you an use milk instead of cream. If your kids don't like dry fruits, don't worry. They will lap up the whole dish after tasting.
We need more calories and proteins in winter. And this is just perfect for winters. So just go ahead... Don't worry about the calories..Just enjoy the food and workout more.
Ingredients:
1.Fresh Green peas: 1 cup
2. Cubed paneer: 100 gms
3. Pineapple: About 2 tbsps, diced
4. Cashews: 2 tbsp
5. Raisins: 1 tbsps
6. Sweet corn: 1 cup
7. Red chilli powder: 1/4 tsp
8. Kasoori Methi: 1tsp
9. Tomatoes: 3 nos.
10. Garam Masala: 1/4 tsp
11. Fresh coriander leaves
12. Salt to taste.
13. Cream: 1tbsp
14. Green chilles: 2 nos
15. Ghee: 2 tbsp
Preparation:
Soak 1 tbsp of cashews in warm water for half an hour and make a fine paste.
Puree the Tomatoes.
Fry the cubed paneer and put them in warm water.
Procedure:
1. Take Ghee in a pan, put slit green chillies and 1 tbsp of cashews.
2. Add the tomato puree, cover and cook for five minutes. Add the cashews paste.
3. Add all the dry masalas, mix well and cook till the oil separates from the sides of the pan.
4. Put boiled corns, peas and mix well.
5. Put kasoori Methi, raisins and pineapples.
6. Put salt to taste, add cream and mix well.
7. Remove from the fire. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve with rotis of your choice.
